Sunday’s at the Fireside #4
We Will Never Know Our Impact
We will never know our impact.
Our attitude and the way we treat people matters more than we realise.
When we snap at people, let our tempers get the better of us, or allow all the stress to build up until it finally spills over, we don’t know who might be on the receiving end of it.
We don’t know what that person is experiencing. We don’t know what kind of day they are having, what they might be carrying, or how deeply our words or actions might affect them.
But the same is true on the other side.
When we choose to be kind, when we go above and beyond, when we show patience and care towards someone, we also don’t know what impact that might have on their day.
A small act of kindness might mean more to someone than we will ever realise.
We will never know our impact, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have one.
Every interaction we have with another person leaves something behind. A feeling, a thought, an encouragement, a hurt, or perhaps even a little bit of hope.
So let’s be kind. Let’s be caring. Let’s choose our words carefully and remember that we never truly know how powerful our impact might be.
Everyone’s actions have an impact.
Are you going to use yours for good?
Thank you for visiting the Dwelling Place.
