Why the Dwelling place exists?
Why did I create this blog, and why is it called The Dwelling Place?
The simple answer is that my mind is rarely quiet. I have thousands of thoughts, questions, observations, and ideas running through it every day. Sometimes that’s a gift, and sometimes it’s exhausting. I realised that if I didn’t have somewhere to put those thoughts, they would simply stay in my head.
I tried journaling, but I could never stay consistent with it. At the same time, I’ve always wanted to write—I just never knew where to begin.
Then I stumbled across Bear Blog.
What started as a place to put my thoughts has slowly become something I genuinely care about. These aren’t just words on a screen or a hobby to fill spare time. They’re honest reflections of what I see, what I wrestle with, what I believe, and what I’m learning.
So why The Dwelling Place?
My faith is woven throughout many of these posts, but this blog isn’t built on the idea of rushing to quick answers. The world moves at an incredible pace. We skim, scroll, react, and move on.
I wanted to create a place that does the opposite.
A place where we can dwell.
To sit with an idea a little longer. To let a story linger. To wrestle with a question. To notice something we might otherwise have missed. To allow observations, faith, imagination, sport, fiction, and everyday life to spark something within us.
Whether you’re reading a post, replying by email, or sending a prayer request, my hope is that this becomes somewhere you return to—not because you agree with everything I write, but because it encourages you to pause, reflect, and dwell.
Thank you for being here.
Welcome to The Dwelling Place.
